Self-Care Sunday: How to Build Your Weekly Ritual

Sundays used to be the most stressful day of my week. I’d scroll on my phone, feel the Sunday Scaries creeping in, and wonder why Monday always hit so hard. Then I created my Self-Care Sunday Ritual—and everything changed.

Now, Sundays are sacred. They’re my time to unplug, realign, and pour back into myself before pouring into the world. You deserve that too.

Here’s how to create a weekly ritual that feels like a warm hug for your nervous system, your skin, and your soul.

☁️ Why Sunday?

Sunday is energetically a “yin” day—slow, grounding, and reflective. It’s also the perfect bridge between one cycle and the next. Rather than dreading the week ahead, we can treat Sunday as the soft reset we need.

🌼 Your 6-Step Self-Care Sunday Ritual

1. Set the Tone (Morning Vibes Only)

Start the day in silence. No alarms. No rushing. No screens.

💡 Try This:

  • Stretch in bed

  • Open the windows

  • Brew a calming herbal tea (like chamomile, lemon balm, or rose)

💭 Affirmation: “Today, I honor my energy and fill my own cup first.”

2. Glow Up from the Inside (Hydrate + Nourish)

Your body needs hydration after a long night of rest.

🥣 My go-to ritual:

  • Warm lemon water or chlorophyll water

  • A nourishing breakfast like oatmeal, avocado toast, or a smoothie

  • A gentle walk while listening to soft music or your favorite podcast

3. Skin-to-Soul Reset (Mini Spa Time)

Give yourself a luxurious at-home spa moment. Light a candle. Turn on your favorite playlist. Put on a robe.

💧 Your Sunday Skincare Steps:

  1. Double cleanse

  2. Clay mask or exfoliating enzyme

  3. Hydrating toner

  4. Sheet mask or serum

  5. Face oil or cream

  6. Gua Sha, roller, or facial massage

💡 Optional Add-On: Scalp oiling and a deep conditioning hair mask for that full-body glow.

4. Organize Lightly (Don’t Overdo It)

This isn’t about deep cleaning. It’s about clearing energetic clutter so your space feels calm.

🧺 Try:

  • Light vacuuming or sweeping

  • Fresh bedsheets

  • Tidying your beauty station

  • Clearing out old emails or your digital space

5. Plan Softly (Not Rigidly)

Instead of a to-do list, create a “to-feel” list for the week.

📝 Try a 3-Part Layout:

Intention Aligned Action Energy Check
Feel calm + focused Wake 15 min earlier for tea time Protect your mornings
Feel confident + creative Film one fun video or do your makeup Block 1 hour for flow
Feel nourished + rested Prep 2 meals ahead of time Evening check-in with journal

Evening Wind Down (Soothe the Nervous System)

As the sun sets, slow everything down.

🛁 Try:

  • A warm bath with magnesium or lavender

  • Dim the lights, light candles

  • A guided meditation, prayer, or journaling session

💡 My Favorite: “Nervous system journaling”—simply writing down how your body feels without judgment. Letting your body speak through the page.

💖 Your Ritual Is Sacred

It doesn’t need to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be every Sunday. But when you create a ritual that supports your body, mind, and energy—you begin each week as your softest, most radiant self.
