One of my goals this year was to take better care of my hair, so when I discovered this honey infused haircare brand, I immediately jumped on the bandwagon to try it out. Let me tell you that the hair oil has now become my new fave product in my haircare routine.
Gisou haircare has taken over instagram by storm. With their honey infused products and beautiful pink aesthetic is the hype truly worth the money for these products? If you’ve been looking for a totally honest review of Gisou Haircare, then this is the post for you. Disclaimer this is an unsponsored post. I bought all the Gisou products I will be talking about in this review with my own money.
About Gisou
Gisou is a honey-based haircare and skincare brand that was founded in 2015 by Negin Mirsalehi. Coming from a family of beekeepers Negin Mirsalehi was inspired by the finest honey that was produced by her fathers honey bees and decided to incorporate it into the perfect honey infused haircare formula.
Gisou Hair Review:
Gisou Hair Oil
This is the most popular Gisou product. If you buy any product from Gisou let it be this honey infused hair oil. Infused with the signature Mirsalehi this luxurious oil is formulated to repair and rebuild the hair. This oil smells absolutely divine and their packaging is luxuriously gorgeous.
I have fine hair and most oils weigh my hair down and makes it look super greasy so I am very particular about what kinds of oils I use in my hair. The first time using the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil I went in pretty heavy and noticed that my hair was quite sticky even days after not reapplying.
The next time using this oil I used only used about two drops and this definitely did the trick. Instead of leaving my hair greasy and sticky, it left my hair feeling like silk and it added a great shine to my hair.
How to Use:
The Gisou website recommends two different ways of using the hair.
As Normal: Apply 2-3 drops onto palms of and using your fingers in a combing motion evenly distribute the product from mid-lengths to ends, onto wet, damp, or dry hair.
Overnight treatment: Start by sectioning hair into 2 sections, taking a full syringe of the Honey Infused Hair Oil for each section and fully coat hair. Braid hair and let it absorb for a few hours or overnight. If product isn’t fully absorbed, then give hair a light rinse or cleanse.
I like to use about 2-3 drops of this about every other day on the ends of my hair after refreshing with the honey infused leave-in conditioner. I’ve yet to use the overnight treatment way but it definitely on my list to do.
Gisou Hair Mask
I am a huge hair mask junkie and when I discovered this one I immediately jumped on this product as well. After discovering this product I trashed all my other hair masks. My hair felt like SO MUCH softer, almost like a cloud. I usually don’t see a difference after the first use but I definitely did with this hair mask. It helped so much with my dry hair and made it smoother.
How to use:
The Gisou website recommends two ways for this hair mask to bust used.
Pre-shampoo: Apply the mask to dry hair and let it soak for an hour or overnight for a more intense treatment alongside 2-3 drops of the Honey Infused Hair Oil.
Post Shampoo: Apply a generous amount to damp or dry hair from mid-lengths to ends. Leave on for 5-7 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with cool water.
I went for the post shampoo method and decided to apply from root to tip since I have very dry hair. My hair has never felt so hydrated and soft. This hair mask comes 2 different sizes. The 2.5oz and the 7.8oz. I chose to go for the 7.8oz and it is so worth it. It’s a pretty large pilot and lasts for so long.
Gisou Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner
My hair stylist kept telling me how dry my hair was and that I needed to use start using a leave-in conditioner. I was never one to use leave-in conditioners.
The Gisou Honey Infused Leave-In Conditioner is a lightweight, multi-tasking hair conditioning spray enriched with the Mirsalehi Honey that helps to hydrate, smooth, detangle, and protect hair from heat damage, pollution, and breakage.
This product made my hair feel incredibly moisturized and softer. It helped to repair my incredibly dry ends after about a month of consistent use. Having fine hair I like to keep my hair products lightweight and this conditioner definitely is. It absorbs so easily into my hair and doesn’t feel greasy at all.
How to Use:
Spray evenly from mid-lengths to ends onto damp hair after your washing routine or onto dry hair whenever you need a conditioning refresh. Do not rinse.
I love to use this root to tip after cleansing my hair and follow it up with my hair gel and then the honey infused hair oil.
Honey Infused Scalp Treatment
This product is a highly concentrated microbiome balancing leave-on serum that has absolutely transformed my scalp. I have a very dry, itchy, and irritated scalp. The honey infused scalp treatment has completed eliminated my scalp irritation and has left my hair feeling fuller and looking shinier.
My scalp has become much more balanced over the past several weeks of using this products. My hair has more volume and my scalp is healthier which has helped with better hair growth.
How to Use:
Shake before using at night on dry hair. Twisting the nozzle apply small amount increments directly onto scalp in 1 inch sections from the hairline to the crown. Gently massage fingertips for 5 minutes to distribute and allow active ingredients to absorb all over scalp. Leave on overnight. Do not rinse.
I absolutely love this products. I truly never realized how itchy and irritated my scalp was before this product. After cleansing my hair I like to massage this all over my scalp.
Final thoughts
I am 100% a fan of Gisou and I can see why they’re such a popular brand. These two products are now a staple in my self-care Sunday routine. It has become the best way to reward myself at the end of a busy week.
The hair oil and hair mask together make my hair feel incredibly silky soft. It leaves my hair smelling so fresh and floral all day long. It’s a scent that is not overpowering and has become so addictive.
The leave-in conditioner has practically cured my dry ends and the scalp treatment has treated my irritated scalp completely. Gisou has become my favorite brand and I highly recommend all these products.
